AIFS Varies EWU partner provider. Worldwide options. Applicant must be participating in AIFS program to be eligible for these scholarships.
Bridging Scholarships for Studies in Japan up to $2,500 (semester)
$4,000 (year)
The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American students studying abroad in Japan for a semester or academic year. Funding for summer study is not offered.
Undergraduates in any field are eligible. Previous language study not required.
Awarded once in the fall and once in the spring.
Boren Awards for International Study Scholarship Awards up to $20,000 a year; Fellowships up to $30,000 a year. Boren Scholarships and Fellowships focus on geographic areas, languages and fields of study deemed critical to U.S. national security. It draws on a broad definition of national security, recognizing that the scope of national security has expanded to include not only the traditional concerns of protecting and promoting American well-being, but also the challenges of global society, including: sustainable development, environmental degradation, global disease and hunger, population growth and migration, and economic competitiveness.
Awarded once per year. Semester and academic year awards, preference is given to year-long study. Summer awards for STEM students only.
Both Boren Application cycles open once per year in late August. The Fellowship application closes in January; the Scholarship application closes in February.

Chinese Government Scholarships Program for U.S. Students Varies The China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarships cover different durations of study at a host institution, depending on a student's application. Note that the application deadline is early April.
Critical Language Scholarship Full Funding Awarded to American students to participate in group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences overseas each summer. Students in any field are eligible to apply but must have completed at least first year of university study prior to program. Awarded once per year. Application cycle is open from mid-summer through mid-November.
DAAD Scholarships for Studies in Germany Varies There are a variety of scholarships offered through the DAAD program. The goal of DAAD is to support study in Germany through classroom study at a German university, fine arts participation, Internship and/or research.
Diversity Abroad Varies Worldwide options. Get access to exclusive diversity study abroad scholarships and grants from DiversityAbroad.com. Minority, Low Income and First Generation students are encouraged to use this resource.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program Round trip airfare, room and board and incidentals. The U.S. Student Program provides multiple avenues for which to consider applying. These areas include Academic research/study grants, English Teaching Assistantships, or Projects in the Creative and Performing Arts and Creative Writing. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who will have earned a Bachelor's degree before the Fulbright award begins. The Fulbright program is merit based. Awarded once per year. Application cycle opens in May and closes in October.

Fulbright Canada - U.S. Student Program $1500 Encourages and promotes bi-national collaborative research and thoughtful public debate on topics that reflect the broad range of contemporary issues relevant to Canada, the United States and the relationship between the two countries. Open to any area of study but the following areas are especially key: humanities, communications and culture, Canada-American relations, public policy, topics relating to culture and environmental law, indigenous issues, and science. Must be U.S. citizen. Awarded once per year. Application cycle opens once per year from May until October. Earlier on-campus deadline required by the program.
Fund for Education Abroad up to $10,000 FEA is committed to increasing the opportunities for underrepresented students to participate in education abroad programs by providing grants and scholarships. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents participating in a minimum 4 weeks of Study Abroad. Awarded twice per year. The Application cycle for winter/spring students going abroad is September 10.  The second cycle awards scholarships for summer, fall and academic year.  It opens in November and closes in January. 
Generation Study Abroad up to $2000 The scholarship program is intended to diversify study abroad and to encourage students to go abroad who would otherwise not participate in an international experience as part of their college education, especially in support of high-achieving, low-income students. Must be a U.S. Citizen and
demonstrate financial need.
Gilman Scholarship average $4000 Encourages destinations world-wide but especially outside of traditional destinations such as Australia, New Zealand and Western Europe.The program aims to diversify the U.S. students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go by financially assisting students who may not otherwise have access to the opportunity. First Generation students are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be receiving the Federal Pell Grant or provide proof that they will be receiving the grant while Studying Abroad. Must be participating in a Study Abroad that will last for at least four weeks. Destinations under a U.S. Department of State warning are prohibited.
Awarded twice per year. Students should apply the semester prior to their planned time overseas.
Application cycle for Summer, Fall and the Academic Year opens in January and closes in March; application cycle for Spring opens in August and closes in October. Earlier on-campus deadline required by the program.

ISA Scholarships Varies EWU partner provider. Applicants must be participating in an ISA program to be eligible.
KEI Affiliate Grant $1000 EWU partner provider. To be eligible, students must be participating on a KEI semester, trimester, quarter or yearlong program. During the 2017-18 Academic Year. KEI Affiliation Grants may not be used towards summer programs. Contact EWU Education Abroad for details.
Killam Fellowships $5,000 (semester) $10,000 (year) Killam Fellowships provide outstanding American students either one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada. Applicants must be U.S. citizens in good academic standing and full-time undergraduate degree seeking students at an accredited U.S. school.
Awarded once per year for the following academic year. Application cycle opens during the summer and closes in early January.
Marshall Scholarships up to $35,000 (year) Marshall's goal is to further the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments and their institutions. Applicants apply for either the traditional, two year scholarship or the one year scholarship. To be eligible you must be a U.S. citizen and have earned your undergraduate degree prior to the beginning of the Marshall program but after April 2010.
Your undergraduate GPA must be at least 3.7. Awarded once per year. Application cycle opens in late spring and closes in early October. Earlier on-campus deadline required by the program.
Phi-Kappa Phi $1000 The award can be used with travel anywhere in the world but you must be doing a Study Abroad which relates to your field of study. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75. The student does not have to be a member of Phi Kappa Phi. Awarded once per year.
The application deadline for Study Abroad from May 2020 - June 2021 is March 15th, 2020.
School for International Training (SIT) vary from $500 to $5,000 The Pell Grant Match Scholarship is available for more than 30 programs. Must be participating in an SIT program to be eligible.
